Family Newsletter

April 26, 2026
Dear Momauguin Families,

As we head into this busy time of year, we are grateful for your continued partnership in supporting our students. Included in this week’s communication is a recent post with a link for you to write a message of encouragement to your child for end-of-year testing. This is one small but meaningful way to show our students that we are working together to support their efforts and success.

Our staff is also requesting donations of Hershey Kisses, Smarties, Starburst, and Tootsie Rolls. These treats will be paired with notes of encouragement and shared with students on testing days to help boost their confidence and brighten their day. You can view the End-of-Year Assessment Calendar below.

We also have many exciting upcoming events:
  • May 8th: PTO-Sponsored Student Council Glow Dance Party
  • May 9th: PTO Flower & Plant Sale (Momauguin School Parking Lot, rain or shine)
  • May 13th: Monthly PTO Meeting
  • May 20th: Early Dismissal
  • May 27th: Family Literacy Night Hosted at Tuttle School and Hagaman Memorial Library

This is a busy season for both students and families. Let’s continue working together to support our students so they can finish the year strong!
Thank you for your continued support.

In partnership,
Julie Oca Church

Donations Requested

Dear Families,
As our students prepare to take on the SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment), we want to ensure they feel supported, confident, and motivated every step of the way. To add a little extra brightness to their testing days, we would like to provide each student with a small treat accompanied by a note of encouragement.
To make this possible, we are asking for your help! We are looking for donations of the following items:
  • Hershey’s Kisses
  • Starburst
  • Tootsie Rolls
  • Smarties

All donated treats must be individually wrapped. Please send all donations to the main office or to school with your child by Thursday, April 30th.
We truly appreciate your generosity and partnership in making this a positive experience for our students. A few positive words and a lot of heart go a long way in helping them do their very best!
Warmly,
The Momauguin Staff

Summative Assessment Encouragement

As we prepare for the upcoming Summative Assessments, we are excited to offer you a special opportunity to support and encourage your child. We invite you to submit a brief, positive message that will inspire and motivate your child during testing. These messages will be delivered to students as a reminder that family members are cheering them on and believing in their success.

To participate, please complete the Google Form below.

Kindly submit your message by Wednesday, April 29th so we have time to deliver the notes prior to testing. This is a simple yet meaningful way to strengthen the home school connection and show our students that we are united in supporting their growth and achievement.

Due on Friday, May 1, 2026: Superintendent's Reading Challenge

The Superintendent's Spring Reading Challenge has begun.
Please record the books your child reads and return Reading Logs to school as requested by the classroom teacher. Some classes have weekly logs and others are collected monthly. We love to celebrate their hard work and participation.

Spring Reading Challenge highlights:

  • Students will read and track books through May 1, 2026.
  • Students will submit their total number of books read.
  • During the month of May, the Superintendent will announce student winners and award a grade-level class trophy.
  • The classroom in each grade level across the district that reads the most books will earn an Ice Cream Social (dates to be determined).

Thank you for your continued partnership in encouraging reading at home. We are proud of our readers and look forward to another exciting challenge this spring.
