Curiosity turned into inspiration as Adult Education students in the Credit Diploma and Intermediate ESL programs stepped beyond the classroom and into the world of advanced manufacturing during a recent visit to the Manufacturing and Technical Community Hub (MATCH) in Fairhaven. This hands-on field trip provided a firsthand look at the skills, technology, and innovation driving today’s manufacturing industry—opening students’ eyes to exciting possibilities for the future.
During their visit, students explored MATCH’s dynamic training programs and learned how apprentices can earn certifications in a variety of high-demand fields. From precision work to cutting-edge technical processes, the experience highlighted clear pathways to meaningful careers while reinforcing the importance of perseverance, skill-building, and lifelong learning. For many, the trip was more than educational—it was a moment of discovery that sparked new goals and broadened horizons.

Our students at JMMS proudly showcased their hard work and passion at Southern Connecticut State University recently, presenting their National History Day projects with confidence and enthusiasm. After months of dedicated research using primary and secondary sources, they brought history to life in meaningful and engaging ways.
Beyond their impressive presentations, it was clear they truly enjoyed the experience—celebrating their accomplishments, supporting one another, and representing our school community with pride.
We wanted to especially highlight the outstanding achievement of a group advancing to the state-level competition with their documentary, Women in the Workplace During World War II.
- Jenny Jones-Davenport
- Dahna Lara
- Julia Moran
- Eli Torello
- Aryanna Torres
Their dedication, collaboration, and thoughtful exploration of important historical topics exemplify the very best of student learning. We extend our congratulations to all of our middle school participants who embraced this enriching experience with curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm.

The spirit of community was on full display at this year’s Community Dining Easter 'Spring Fling', a joyful celebration that brought families together for an evening of connection, generosity, and fun.
Thanks to the support of Goody's Hardware, children enjoyed a hands-on planting station where they could dig in, learn, and take home something special to grow. The excitement continued as the Bunny made a grand appearance, delighting children while handing out more than 200 Easter baskets and bags filled with goodies.
Families were treated to a warm meal and left with full hearts and arms, thanks to the incredible contributions of our community partners. 'Read to Grow' provided books to encourage a love of reading, while East Haven Food Pantry distributed both food and books to support families beyond the event. The East Haven Family Resource Center also offered shoes for families in need.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of amazing volunteers, who brought the event to life through face painting, craft stations, food service, assisting the Bunny, and helping with cleanup. Their energy and generosity helped create a welcoming, festive atmosphere for all.
The Spring Fling was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together - ensuring that every family left nourished, supported, and celebrated.

Adam McIntyre, a senior captain for East Haven Baseball, has been a dedicated member of the program for years. His journey began in Little League, continued through middle school, and has grown into a strong high school career. Next year, Adam will take the next step in his academic and athletic journey as he continues his baseball career at Albertus Magnus College.
Throughout his development, Adam has grown both on and off the field. A major influence has been his brother, Aaron, who consistently pushed him to give his best effort, even during challenging moments. That support helped shape Adam’s work ethic and mindset, which he now brings to his teammates each day.
As a captain, Adam leads by example—working hard, maintaining a positive attitude, and persevering through challenges. He takes pride in supporting his teammates, keeping everyone focused, and fostering a strong sense of unity. Adam believes respect is earned through actions and strives to bring out the best in those around him.
Baseball has taught Adam valuable life lessons, including how to handle failure and the importance of discipline and teamwork. Most importantly, the sport has helped him build confidence and mental toughness that will continue to serve him well beyond the field. East Haven Baseball proudly recognizes Adam McIntyre for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Dear East Haven Community,
Gaining feedback is essential in ensuring the success of the district’s child nutrition program. We have created a customer satisfaction survey to help collect accurate feedback from our students and parents/guardians.
This quick 5-minute survey will gather quantitative and qualitative data about the child nutrition program which we will use to enhance student experiences.
About the survey:
- This is a nation-wide survey used to gain insight from school districts across the country
- This is a smart survey meaning the survey will tailor the questions based on how participants answer initial queries
- The survey is available in multiple languages
- Survey results will be stored in a secure Sodexo system
- The survey does not collect any personal information from participants
- The elementary survey is geared towards parent/guardian response
- The secondary survey is geared towards parents/guardians and/or students
|
Survey responses will be collected until Friday, April 17th

The world of tobacco and nicotine use has changed dramatically in recent years, especially with the rise of vaping. For many parents and caregivers, it can feel overwhelming to keep up with current trends and know how to start meaningful conversations about these risks. To help, the American Lung Association has developed a free, one-hour online course designed specifically for parents, guardians, and caregivers of children ages 8–20.
This easy-to-follow course is divided into three helpful modules: an overview of today’s tobacco and nicotine landscape, strategies for prevention, and guidance on how to respond if you suspect your child may already be using. It offers practical tools and conversation starters to help you approach the topic in a supportive, informed, and non-judgmental way.
|
We encourage you to take advantage of this valuable resource and feel more confident navigating these important conversations at home. Click here to enroll in the course and learn how you can deliver an impactful message in a supportive, non-judgmental way.

Strong attendance is directly tied to academic success. Please help us by making school attendance a top priority for your child. Missing more than 2 days of school per month places a student in the category of being chronically absent—something we work hard to prevent, since attendance impacts learning at every stage of a child’s education.
-
Preschool: Building strong routines around attendance starts early. Even at age 3, developing the habit of coming to school every day sets the foundation for a child’s future success.
-
Elementary School: Research shows that students who miss more than 2 days per month are at risk of not reading on grade level by the end of grade 3—a key milestone for future achievement.
-
Middle School: Consistent attendance helps students stay connected to their peers, prepared for daily lessons, and ready to take on more rigorous coursework that builds the bridge to high school success.
-
High School: Attendance is directly tied to credit. Missing too many days of school may result in loss of course credit, which can prevent students from staying on track to graduate within four years. Daily attendance is one of the strongest indicators of graduating on time and being prepared for college, career, or the military.
- Let’s partner together to ensure that every child attends school regularly and has the best possible opportunity to achieve.
