Dear Momauguin Families,
We are excited to share some wonderful news with our school community. Mrs. Ashley Madonna has been selected as this year’s East Haven Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year! This recognition celebrates her dedication, passion for teaching, and the positive impact she has on our students each day. We are incredibly grateful to have Mrs. Madonna as part of the Momauguin School community. Congratulations, Mrs. Madonna!
Kindergarten Information Night will be tomorrow, March 16th from 6:00–7:00 PM. If you have an incoming Kindergarten student, we encourage you to attend and learn more about our program.
Our students continue to learn and grow every day! As we head into the final months of the school year, we ask that families continue practicing literacy and numeracy skills at home. Even learning one new math fact a day can greatly improve a student’s math fluency over time.
Do you have a reluctant reader? Remember that students benefit from being read to just as much as reading on their own. Reading a chapter book together each night and talking about the story is a wonderful way to build comprehension while also reducing screen time.
If you need book suggestions or ideas for practicing skills at home, we are always happy to help. Thank you for your continued support!
In partnership,
Julie Oca Church
Principal

The Superintendent's Spring Reading Challenge has begun.
Please record the books your child reads and return Reading Logs to school as requested by the classroom teacher. Some classes have weekly logs and others are collected monthly. We love to celebrate their hard work and participation.
Spring Reading Challenge highlights:
- Students will read and track books through May 1, 2026.
- Students will submit their total number of books read.
- During the month of May, the Superintendent will announce student winners and award a grade-level class trophy.
- The classroom in each grade level across the district that reads the most books will earn an Ice Cream Social (dates to be determined).
Thank you for your continued partnership in encouraging reading at home. We are proud of our readers and look forward to another exciting challenge this spring.
