your voice matters
Dear EHPS Community,

Fostering a strong partnership between home and school is essential for the success and well-being of every student. Your voice, insights, and perspectives are invaluable as we work together to create the best possible learning environment for our children.

This week, the Panorama Family School Relationships Survey officially opened. This important tool provides our schools with honest, anonymous feedback directly from you regarding your experiences with communication, school climate, and student support.

To learn more about our student, staff, and family surveys, and how they are used to drive change, listen to our latest edition of the Engagement Exchange podcast (Episode 2: Listening to Learn). The podcast is accessible on our Family Engagement webpage by clicking HERE.

We strongly encourage all families to take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking the yellow button below.

Your participation is a powerful step in strengthening the school-home partnership. We appreciate your continued commitment to our students and schools.

In partnership,
Adam Swinney, Interim Superintendent

District Highlights

pumpkin
Our Momauguin School Kindergarteners enjoyed a hands-on learning experience last week with an engaging trip to Rose Orchards Farms!

Students, families, and staff explored the orchard at the peak of autumn via a hayride and picked pumpkins. This outdoor adventure was the perfect real-world link for their current science unit, "Trees & Weather." Kindergarteners were able to see tree growth stages firsthand, observe the leaves changing colors, and understand how weather affects a local farm and its harvest.

A huge thank you to the staff and families who made this engaging field trip a great success!

Athletic Spotlight

DM

Diana Melnyk - Co-op Swim Senior Captain

East Haven’s co-op swim team is proud to recognize Senior Captain Diana Melnyk, whose dedication and leadership have shone brightly throughout her four years on the team. This season, Diana has been a dominant force in the pool, particularly in the 100 Backstroke, where she has consistently taken first place finishes against multiple schools.

Beyond her athletic excellence, Diana truly embodies the Vision of the Graduate through her involvement across East Haven High School. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Diana is an active member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and proudly serves as the Treasurer for the Class of 2026, now entering her second year in that role.

She also leads as a captain of the Varsity Girls Tennis Team and the Pom Pom Dance Team, demonstrating her commitment, school spirit, and teamwork both in and out of the water. Diana’s hard work, leadership, and passion make her an outstanding role model for her peers and a true representative of East Haven Pride!

Attendace Matters

absence

Strong Attendance & Academic Success

Strong attendance is directly tied to academic success. Please help us by making school attendance a top priority for your child. Missing more than 2 days of school per month places a student in the category of being chronically absent—something we work hard to prevent, since attendance impacts learning at every stage of a child’s education.

Help your child succeed in school by building the habit of good attendance early. Visit this link for helpful tips on building healthy attendance habits as early as Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Keep your child on track in middle school and high school and help your teen stay engage. Visit this link to learn what you can do.

Let’s partner together to ensure that every child attends school regularly and has the best possible opportunity to achieve.
