It was brought to our attention during the 3rd building tour that we missed documenting some rooms for Momauguin Elementary School  on  the RFP's "Proposed Phone System Details" section.

The below spreadsheet should be in addition to what is documented on that RFP for Momauguin...

E-Rate application question

posted Jan 25, 2014, 11:52 AM by Matthew Ullring

Q - My question concerns the e-rate application on the Kellogg & Sovereign Consulting web site. I see that there are certain e-rate funding categories that you have applied for in the proposal. As we are filling this out, I have noticed that there are e-rated services that we wish to propose for this bid, that are not on this application. For instance the POTS lines for the security system falls under “Telephone Service” as a Priority 1 eligible service for e-rate but it is not on the bid process. Can you just let us know if we should not deviate our e-rate funding proposals from what is currently up on this site?

A - You should meet the guidelines of the RFP.  However, we are looking for good ideas, too.  So please include your ideas in addition to the minimum guidelines of the RFP.  It will be noted on the grading portion of the RFP.

Pole accessibility, Bell systems and type of cabling

posted Jan 21, 2014, 6:46 AM by Matthew Ullring

Q - At the High School where paging is required outside… is there a pole accessible via conduit for the outside speaker?
A - No not to our knowledge

Q - Are the current Bell Systems in the Classrooms or in the Hallways?
A - It's a mix between schools.

Q - Is it possible to list the Current Manufacturers of the Paging Systems at each school?
A - We do not have the manufactures of the current paging sytems at each school. That information was available during the walk-through. It will be available during the next walk-through on Friday.

Q - What type of Cabling should be bid: PVC or Plenum?
A - Cable choice should probably come down to the location of the speaker or phone. It could be both PVC or plenum.

How many DID #'s for the new phone system and e-fax

posted Jan 21, 2014, 6:35 AM by Matthew Ullring

Q - How many DID #’s and main numbers are currently in use that you would like to use in the new system? Do you plan on keeping your current Analog lines for security & fax? Or do you need these included in the total package proposal? (If so how many POTS Lines would be needed at each school)
A - We need at least two lines at each building. One to call out in case internet goes down and one for the alarm system.

Q - Is switching to eFax and option?
A - Yes, we'd consider e-fax.

Building tour rescheduled due to weather

posted Jan 21, 2014, 6:11 AM by Matthew Ullring

Please update your calendar with the following change.  Due to snow, the third and final building tour will be changed from
Wednesday, January 22nd to Friday, January 24th.  The time to meet is 9am in the High School lobby.

Q: Do you want 1GB sets for the ones labeled ‘basic phones’? I understand everything else will be 1GB but if Basic means they wont be plugging in PC’s, then there is no need for gig sets here.

A: Any telephone handset that includes a data switch should be capable of 1GB operation.
