AV/Media Club

The Media Club pursues an interest in film, video, broadcasting and audio production. Students shoot music videos, movies, sports, plays, events, club activities and earn community service hours. Past members have created their own TV shows, participated in Fox 61 Student News, learned about sets, lights, audio, editing and live productions.

A book club that meets about 6 times per year for great discussions about the latest reading selection. This is a unique club with both students and faculty members participating together.

The Comet (School Newspaper)

Students interested in the writing, editing, proofreading, design, and layout of the school newspaper should see their guidance counselor to sign up for the Journalism/Newspaper Publications course. This is a full year course in which several issues of The Comet are produced.

Concert Choir

Students interested in choir should see their Guidance Counselor to sign up for the class. The choir performs at evening concerts, music festivals, competitions, and community events.

Creative Writing Club

Students create, share, and discuss writing. Club will publish a literary magazine of various student created media, called The Scrapbook Chronicles.

A student led organization for future health care professionals at the local, state, and national levels. Develop leadership skills and career awareness as you prepare to meet the health care needs of society. Attend & compete in a variety of ways at leadership conferences on the state and national levels.

A partnership with Hagaman Public Library, this student group meets twice a month to discuss what’s new and exciting for students in the library. And run their own book club!

Math League

Students prepare for and participate in the New England Mathematics League, a regional math competition. Students also learn about & discuss mathematical topics of interest to the group.

Robotics

The robotics club gives students of all ability and skill levels the opportunity to learn about robotics through a hands-on competition with other schools. A student does not need to be knowledgeable or have experience with computers or be good with mechanical things, all they need is a healthy curiosity and a desire to learn and compete.

S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions)

S.A.D.D.'s goal is to provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving, eating disorders, teen dating violence and prevention, suicide, smoking, and other destructive decisions.

State of the Arts (Students Taking Action Through Expression of the Arts)

Comprised of students representing all of the arts (visual, dramatic, literary, musical, technical), STATE members express themselves creatively while using art for good. Members participate in large scale art projects, school and community art shows, coffeehouses, and charity work.

Unified Sports
Advisors: Mrs. Holt, Ms. Lutar & Ms. Paquette

Unified Sports® is a registered program of Special Olympics that combines approximately equal numbers of athletes with and without intellectual disability on sports teams for training and competition. All Unified Sports® players, both athletes and special partners, are of similar age and matched sport skill ability. Teams are placed in competitive divisions based on their skill abilities, and range from training divisions to high level competition.

Yearbook (The Pioneer)
Advisors: Mr. Marangell & Ms. Wright

The yearbook staff photographs activities and writes articles to document the story of the school year in The Pioneer. Staff members work with the editors to design layouts and compile the book using a web-based publishing program. The beginning of the school year consists of contacting local businesses and community members to sponsor the book. Students interested in photography, journalism, graphic design, or business-related careers are encouraged to join.
