The Health Science Technology program at East Haven High School exists to help students explore careers and have experiences in the health care field. Knowledge, clinical skills and leadership opportunities in medicine empower students so that they can set and achieve goals. Nurse Assistant (Leads to state certification as a CNA) HOSA – Future Health Professionals, is a student organization that provides many opportunities for students to explore, be empowered and set and achieve goals. It is curricular, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into all classes. Membership in HOSA is strongly encouraged and a must if a student wants to take advantage of every opportunity available. HOSA is student led, and has state and national levels. State Officers meet monthly to plan the fall and spring conferences for HOSA members statewide. Three EHHS HOSA members have been elected to state office and will serve as President-Elect, Treasurer and Parliamentarian for Connecticut HOSA during the 2012-2013 year. Mission Statement The Mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill, and leadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping students to meet the needs of the health care community. Through the opportunities available in HOSA, our EHHS students have achieved a great deal.
